The following is information on the next training for the Mentoring Coalition of San Diego County. This Training is free and open to mentoring professionals and anyone interested in learning more about mentoring!

When: Wednesday, March 14, 12:00-1:30pm

What: Mentor Coalition Brown Bag training

Who: FREE and open to the public!

Topic: Play With A Purpose: Using Sports to Teach Life Lessons to Mentees

Trainer: Dr. Jason Galea

Dr. Jason Galea has a PhD in Sports Psychology and worked with Professional Athletes in the NFL, NHL and MLB.
Presently working with Professional Cycling team and potentail Olympian BMX riders. The focus of his work includes: Performance Enhancement, Life issues,Stress Management, Anxiety Management, ADD/ADHD issues, and Issues involving focus. He has also served as a Guest Lecturer for SDSU athletics, SDSU athlete training/therapy certification program, and OASIS Medical training seminars.

College Bound / Career Bound Event

Just in Time for Foster Youth’s annual “College Bound/Career Bound” Event will be held on June 19th. It is a time for the extended JIT family to come gather and recognize the drive and determination of foster youth by giving them the tools and encouragement they need to succeed in making their dreams come true – laptops and dorm set-ups, household basics and essential advice on finance, legal tips and good decision making.

New Mileage Reimbursement Form

For all of you who are signed up with the Foster Youth Mentor Program through San Diego County, there is a new mileage form that must be hand-written.

Here is an excerpt from Tin Le’s email:

Effect immediately, please use the mileage form I attached in this email. Please PRINT it out and HANDWRITE when you fill in the information. This is required because the current form doesn’t show or print out the complete destination information when you type in a long address. Efforts are being made to make the form more user friendly and we will send it to you as soon as it becomes available.
