Foster youth are challenged by not having the support needed as they transition into adulthood. Some of their needs include:
- grocery store gift cards
- Walmart or Target gift cards
- bedding that is BRAND NEW!!
- pots and pans
- towels
- hygiene products
- cleaning supplies
- blankets
- alarm clock
- plates
- glasses
- silver wear
- basic food shopping (this includes taking the foster kid out and shopping with them)
- books for college and other supplies
- back packs
Other needs include:
- bike to transport to work and visits with family
- special needs hair stylist for African American hair. This is a big need that goes over looked often.
- Calligraphy Set
- Art classes
- Community sports at the local recreation center that cost money to join
- Interview outfits
- Community summer camps
- Graduation items: year books, prom, senior pictures
- Book fines for kids that loose then so they can graduation
- medical needs not covered by medical insurance
- cribs
- school items for foster kids who are placed back home or with a relative that have limited finances
